■ again was the trouble behind

“It’s hard to go back to the
. phone after checking the re
- cords and tell a veteran he for
, get to give us his new address
or that we received it too late
to notify the U. S. Treasury of
the change”, Mr. A. W. Tate,
' Manager, Veterans Adminia
i tration Regional Office, Atlanta,
j Georgia, said.
All this anxiety and incon
venience could be avoided if the
, veteran would give the Post
r Office serving his old address
a notice of change at the same
’ time he notifies the VA, Mr.
Tate explained.
For some time now the Post
Office has been able to for
ward Government checks if
1 supplied with properly signed
change-of-address notice.
4 Otherwise, the Post Office will
have to return the check to the
U. S. Treasury Disbursing Of
fice for remailing when it re
y ceives the new address from the
VA.

IRRIGATION OF PEACHES
I
The irrigation of peaches in
Georgia is a relatively new
practice by the majority of
peach growers. In 1954, there
were 545 irrigated acres. By
. 1960, this had increased to 1,735
acres. There has been very lit
tle research on peach irrigation
according to W. E. Gaston, Ex
tension Agriculture Engineer,
but when farmers have irrigat-
I ed, they have gotten excellent
results.
