Good all-weather highways
make the New Years' of today a
gala family holiday with celebra
tions, sports and fun within easy
driving distance of every town in
America. For thousands, this
means the noisemakers, confetti
and merrymaking in New York
City’s Times Square. To others it
is skiing at Mt. Heod in Oregon,
or the thrill of the ski jump, bob
sled and speed-skating contests
at Lake Placid, N.Y. Philadel
phia effers its traditional Mum
mers Parade with peacock-hued
floats, sequin-costumed dancers
and earoling minstrels. National
Mrs. Edna Walker has recover
ed enough from a slight stroke to
go to Smyrna with her daughter,
Mrs. C. L. Stephens, who visited
her several days during her illness.
Mrs. Earl Beeland of Whitej
Plains has returned home after
visiting Mrs. Edna Walker for
several days. |
Mrs. J. N. Dempsey and Miss
Mary Worsham will visit Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Brewer, Vickie, Bonnie
and Jackie in High Shoals, Christ
mas.
Rev. and Mrs. Olin Rowe, Sylvia
and Mark of Ft. Deposit, Ala., will
visit relatives and friends here
during Christmas.
} Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pratt and
Kathy spent Sunday with relatives

The friends of Mrs. C. A. Aaron
are glad to know she is at home
from St. Joseph Hospital. We wish
for her a speedy recovery.
We extend our sympathy to Mr.
and Mrs. J. P. Presley in the
death of their infant son.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Graham
and Keith of Salt Lake City, Utah,.
are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Hoke
Lord and other relatives here. -

So glad to have such good
attendance for Church services
even though the weather was so
“nasty”’. The Christmas pr o -
gram was wonderful and Mrs.
Santa was in ‘‘tip-top” mood.!
Many little tykes enjoyed their
gifts. Hats off to the young people
who took part in the program, it
was very good.
Sorry to hear, tho at this joyous
season, we still have some shut
ins but we sincerely hope they will
soon be out.

Jr. and daughter attended the
annual Christmas Ford Party in
Hapeville, Sunday afternoon.

relatives here.

removed. Leslie has chicken
pox. We miss them.
