Nutritionists recommend that teenagers drink 4 glasses of
milk per day. To keep caleries low and energy high Borden
Company home economists suggest that your teenagers make
beverages with nonfat dry milk. One quart of it liquefied con
tains only half the calories found in a quart of fresh whole milk.
Beverages can be made festive by adding fruit or juices to glasses
of chilled nonfat dry milk. Here are some favorite flavors:
Weight-Watchers Peach Star Cooler
(Makes two servings)
1 cup liquefied Starlac 1 (8-ounce) jar pureed
nonfat dry milk peaches OR 1 cup
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg fresh pureed peaches
Combine all ingredients in deep bowl; beat with rotary beater
or electric mixer until well blended OR combine all ingredients in
blendor; blend for 1 minute. Pour into mug or glass. If desired,
gernish with thick slice of fresh peach.
Orange Dream Cooler
(Makes 4 servings)
1/2 cup cold water 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
1 tablespoon lemon juice (dry form)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons honey
1-1/2 cups ecold orange juice
Combine water, lemon juice, vanilla and Starlac nonfat dry
milk in a deep bowl. Beat with electric or rotary beater about 6
minutes or until stiff. Gradually add honey and orange juice;
beat until blended. Serve at once.

IN MEMORIAM
In memory of C. M. Ellis who
cziied one year ago, December
3.
Your gentle face and patient
smile
With sadness we recall
You had a kindly word for each
And died beloved by all,
The voice is mute and stilled
the heart,
That loved us well and true,
Ah, bitter was the trial to part
From one so good as you.
You are not forgotten loved
one |
Nor will you ever be, |
As long as life and memory last
We will remember the. |
We miss you now, our hearts
are sore,
As time goes by we miss you
more,
Your loving smile, your gentle
face,
No one can fill your vacant
place.
