Saturday evening of a delight
ful open house at which Miss
Patsy Ellington, Christmas Eve
bride-elect was complimented
by Mrs. Cawthon, Miss Betty
'Thomas of Macon and Miss
‘Rosalie Row of Carrollton.
A colorful Christmas Tree,
‘with traditional lights and trim
mings, keynoted the Yuletide
motif wused throughout the
rooms thrown ensemble for the
occasion.
Compositions of red Christ
mas candles with base arrange
ments of silvered cedar and
holly were wused at vantage
points in the living room where
guests were received.
Miss Thomas, who wore a
black textured linen with fur
trim, and Miss Row, wearing
green chiffon, assisted in greet
ing guests and keeping the
guest book,
Miss Ellington chose, for the
occasion, a lilac chiffon fash
ioned along princess lines, with
scooped neckline, compliment
ed by a corsage of lavender
and white carnations. Receiv
ing with the honoree were her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H.

to the club: Mrs. Paul Fedder,

Armstrong. Mrs. Vaughn led
the group in reading the Gard

holly. Crystal trays of home
baked cookies and confections,
and bonbon dishes of toasted
nuts and mints completed the
attractive appointments. Punch
was served by Miss Jane Rea
gan, who wore a mint green
lace over taffeta sheath, with
lace scallops finishing the
scooped neckline.
Further accentuating the sea
sonal motif in the dining room
was a colorful fruit arrange-~
ment on the buffet, which was
flanked by Christmas candles
with base arrangements simi
lar to those used on the table.
Approximately fifty guests
were greeted between the call
ing hours of seven until nine
o’clock.

Christmas carols from America,
Germany and France. Mrs. Pat
terson accompanied the group
on the piano.
The rooms opened for enter
taining were decorated for the
Holiday Season.
Mrs. George Cherry presided
over the coffee serving and Mrs.
R. H. Patterson served Russian
Tea. Mrs. A. D. Gordon served
cold drinks to the girl chorus,
Delicious sandwiches, fruit
cake, cokes, cheese sticks and
nuts were served during the
social hour.
Misses Vivian and Florence
Bower were co-hostesses. Miss
Vivian Bower was not able to
attend on account of her con
tinued illness. There were
thirty guests present for the
meeting and party.

of the Morning Division, Por

Christmas meeting at ten
o’clock on the morning of De
cember 19. The group united to
sing “Silent Night, Holy Night”.
Minutes of the last meeting
were read and the roll w a s
called. Mrs. James Mitchell was
recipient of the attendance
award,
Mrs. Willie Peffries read an
interesting editorial entitled “Is
It Too Great An Effort to Spell
It Out?” which emphasized the
importance of always saying
Christmas rather than Xmas.
