The Miniature Garden Club
held its February meeting at
the lovely home of Mr. and
Mrs. Will Cook on Brookwood
Circle. Hostesses were Mrs. M.
H. Irwin, Mrs. Charles Har
well and Mrs. Frank Easter
lin.
Mrs. W. B. Travis, president,
presided and opened the meet
ing with the club collect in
unison, Mrs. Homer Cook, Mrs.
Irwin and Mr. and Mrs. Cook
were welcomed as visitors.
During the business session
various reports were given by
committee chairmen. A work
shop to be held in place of a
Flower Show was discussed.

officers which were unani
mously accepted by the club:

During the social hour which
followed, delicious refresh
ments were served by the hos
tesses from a beautiful ap
pointed table. Mrs. Frank
Easterlin poured coffee.

The Gum Creek Home Dem
onstration Club met at church
annex February 21. Meeting
was called to order by the
President, Mrs. Robert White.
Twelve members and one vis
-Istor present.
Mrs. Wren Thompson gave
the devotional. The Club Creed
was read in unison, club song
was sang, and the Lord's Pray
er repeated by all. Mrs. Gene
Garner called the roll and read
the minutes of the last meet
ing. Treasurer's report was
given by Mrs, Harvey Johnson
‘and approved. Score cards were
checked and old and new
business was discussed.
Mrs. Dewey Cason gave the
month demonstration on rural
electrification which was very
interesting. Mrs. Carol Me-
Giboney gave an interesting
demonstration on money man
agement and budgets.
During the social hour a
game was played with Mrs.
Roy Kimble winning the prize.
Delicious refreshments were
served by Mrs. Chester John
son and Mrs. Wren Thompson.

Cawthon was gracious hostess
to the Annie Lummus Circle of
the W.S.C.S. of the Julia A.
Porter Memorial Methodist
Church for their February
meeting when ten members
and one visitor were welcom
ed. Mrs. M. B. Shaw presided
over the meeting and directed
the business transactions.
It was voted to remember
Mrs. Cleo Hatfield with a
valentine remembrance.
Mrs. Hawk invited the circle
to meet with her for their
meeting on March 12, The place
will be named later.
Mrs. Douglas Yancey was
welcomed and introduced as the
speaker for the evening's pro
gram. Her message was “Latin
America Speaks” and was
closed with prayer.
During a happy social period,
the hostess served a delicious
salad course, pound cake, and
coffee to her guests. The Val
entine motif was executed in
the refreshments.

met Monday night at the First
Baptist Church with the other
circles of the W. M. S. This is
the week of Prayer for Home
Missions and a most interest
ing program was presented by
Mrs. Frances Allen, Mrs, Lou
ise Rutledge, Mrs. Sybil Mills
and Mrs. Helen Mobley.
After the program a short
business meeting was held with
Mrs. Lulu Vaughn, chairman,
presiding, Mrs. Shirley Dial
opened this session with pray
er.
Twenty-two members were
present. Delicious refreshments
were served by the hostessess,
Mrs., Allen, Mrs. Mills and
Mrs. Rutledge.
