Smith-Hoffman Bridesmaids Luncheon
Mm. Walter MeGahee was a
gracious hostess at a brides
maids’ luncheon, tendered in
honor of Miss Virginia Ann
Smith and her bridal atten
dants, at her Emory Street
home on Friday.
Yellow and white were em
ployed in the color scheme of
decorative features of the
rooms thrown ensemble for en
tertaining. Spring blossoms and
flowering shrubs were used ef
fectively in artistic arrange
ments to accentuate the cho
sen colors, throughout the
attractive setting.
The bride’s table, overlaid
with imported cutwork and
lace, was centered with yellow
rosebuds interspersed with yel
low maline puffs and ivy ten
drils, with a cluster of gold

Miss Bryant is a 1981 grad
uate of Newton County High
School and is now employed by
Oxford Manufacturing Com
pany in Atlanta.
Mr. Mitchell is a 1961 grad
uate of Newton County High
School and is attending Young
Harris College at Young Har
ris, Georgia.

nized on Saturday, July 21 at
8 o’clock at the Julia A. Por
ter Memorial Methodist Church
in Porterdale.

The April meeting of the
Covington Garden Club was
held at the home of Mrs. C. G.
Henderson with Mrs. Leo
Mallard and Mis. Ruth Taylor
as cohostess.
Prior to the meeting a social
hour was enjoyed with delici
ous refreshments served and
Mrs. Mallard pouring coffee.
The table was lovely, carrying
out the Easter motif in ar
rangement.
Mrs. Leo Mallard, First Vice
president, presided in the ab
sence of Mrs. R. P- Campbell,
president. Mrs. Touchstone gave
the devotional by reading a
poem and the club collect. Mrs.
Johnson, sister of Mrs. Porter
MacMahon, and Miss India
Fullerton, sister of Mrs. C. G.
Henderson were welcomed as
visitors.

which were admired by all.
