wanted. . . I swallowed every
pill, I mopped, I gargled, I
fought, bled and all but died to
get that ailment better in 10
days for I’d had it 2 weeks al
ready. . . the hospital was the
last hope. ... So on the 28th
thev made me go. even tho I

who looked like she was dead.
I walked around and around,
for I did not have to get to bed
until the Dr. came next day and
put me there. She had no nurse
... just lying there prone. . . .
and dead to world and late that
night she opened her eyes. I
wondered where her folks were
all day. . . . but nosey me I had
to cheer her, and she said "OH
I’m fine now, I just ha.’ a bron
coscope (if thats it) Sure she
bled from the throat. . .It was
| sore but she felt so much bet ■
ter for they pump all that stuff
‘ out of your lungs. . . .which I
think the bees should have got
ten from the flowers instea.. of
. us. . . . “Yes, she said, “I’m so
■ much better. . . this is my 21st
one.
A B. Jr., seems to be im
proving slowly, and the doc
tors say it will take a long time
with both legs broken and so
many other injuries. He is
wanting to sit up now, that is
he wants to do. . . .but they
have not set the jaw bone as
yet, and it has been two weeks
ago yesterday. . . But he de
veloped a mild case of pneu
monia, which they have now
checked. We stayed a week at
the motel near the hospital. . .

and on Sunday AM we both
had this cough, so we came
home to get rid of it. We call
every other night, and one of
our little cousins has been
sweet enough to take time out
to write. We are just praying
all will go well with him, and
that we will soon be able to be
out and can go back and see
him. It will be a long time be
fore he can be up or walk.
NOW. . . a few weeks ago I
gave you an address. . . or
’phone number to call George
Jefferson, and I gave you his
home phone. . . . and he stays
at the store from the wee hours
of the morning. . . so you did
not get him if you called, and I
know somebody did for we were
asking if you had some old
bricks, left overs, or old ones
around your home. . . or con
crete blocks. ... or even a rock
chimney on your place you
would give for the Colored
swimming pool and recreation
park area. . . Please be sure and

Says . . .
I am about to be off to Atlan
tic City to attend the sixth
“Assembly” of the Woman's
Society of Christian Service,
which meets every for years.
I have attended all 3 other
five, and am glad to go to this
one. I imagine this will be my
last —for another four years
will put me over the century
mark! if I live till then.
There will be quite a party
flying out from Atlanta Air
Port Monday 14th, ai Mrs. Ar
thur Styron, our North Geor
gia President, a number of the
general officers and the dis
trict presidents will be in the
group; and also Miss Virginia
McElvany, President of our
Conyers Wesleyan Service Guild
and I will join them. If I have
time I'll send a message from
the Assembly, if not I’ll try to
give you a report when I re
turn.
On all other occasions I have
made the trip by Greyhound
bus, but this trip is almost too
far and complicated for me to
under take alone, so I decided
to take advantage of the op
portunity of going in such good
J company, since my grand birth
j farm or concrete blocks and
'they will gladly ccene. with
■ grateful hearts and use them.
Graduation time is near. . .
i we are thinking of our young
; people. . . and will have more
l to say about that next week. . .
