one on this nice June day! It is
always a pleasure to wish those
who have special days in any
given month “Many Happy Re
turns” and so that is my greeting
to those whose special day will be
tn June this year.
I guess everyone has rather a
gad heart this morning as we
think of the air tragedy in Paris.
France yesterday. It effects so
many Georgians and as we think
of a stricken city like Atlanta we
renumber that in our own com
munity of Salem we had a loss last
week in the death of Mrs. Edward
Sheppard, who passed away at
Emory Hospital last Tuesday. We
exlend our heartfelt sympathy to

Harry Melton, who has returned

daughter of Atlanta, Joseph Har
vey of Tallapoosa. Mrs. Agnes Dun
c-n and Miss Gayle Duncan were
all the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Harvey on Sunday.
Mrs. Ernest Johnson Sr. and
daughter. Mildred were dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Thompson Sr. on Saturday. In the
afternoon they visited relatives at
Stone Mountain.

The decendants of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Eli Hull gathered at
Salem Camp Ground, Sunday for
their annual family reunion
There were 73 present and a day
of fellowship and good eats was
enjoyed by all Mr. and Mrs. G.
W. Ramsey, The Aaron Kemp
family and the Douglas Robertson
family of our community were
among the ones to enjoy the occa
sion.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cook and :
their children of Atlanta were here
for the Hull Reunion and visited
Mr and Mrs. G. W. Ramsey after
the reunion.
Mrs. Clifford Savage. Mrs. Bob
Canady. Mrs. Elinor Neimier and
Mrs. B. J. Matocha all went to At
lanta on Saturday for a meeting of
the Catholic Church.
Clifford Savage spent Saturday
with his sister, Mrs. Elmer Hitch
cock and Mr. Hitchcock at Mans
field.
Mrs. J F Burns spent Thurs
day and Friday in Atlanta with
Mr. and Mrs, Joel Burns and fam
ily.

lanta spent the day with the Yan
ceys. Sunday afternoon, Mrs.
Yancey and the Taylor’s visit

at Porterdale. A belated visit by
the Taylors of the Silver Wedding
Anniversary celebration by the

Mr and Mrs. John Addison en
joved a few days visit to the moun
tains of North Georgia last week,
returning byway of Lavonia where
they spen* the weekend with Mr.
Addison's parents.

J. Miller family all went to Locust
Grove. Sunday, where they joined
other members of the Miller fam
ily to celebrate L. W. Miller’s 75
