Resolutions to Mrs.
Maude Arnold
The members of Covington
Chapter No. 337 Order of the
Eastern Star, of Covington, Ga.,
wish to pay tribute to the me
mory of one of our most belov
ed members, Mrs. Maude Ar
nold, who was called by the
Master to enter into eternal rest
and deserving reward on Mon
day night, June 18, 1962. She
had been ill, yet not seriously
ill, since January 15, 1960 and
was unable to get out from her
home except on occasional trips.
She was married to Mr. Alon
zo Arnold, who survives her, as
of August 14, 1914. To this mar
riage there were no children,
but she loved children of
others. She loved her home and
neighbors and took great joy in
doing little things for them.
She was first a member of
the Porterdale Chanter, later
to be known as Silver Star
Chapter, and served as Matron
of that Chapter before its clos
ing during the war years. She
affiliated with Covington
Chapter in August 1948 when
she and her husband moved to
Covington in their home on
Middlebrooks Street.
We appreciate the opportun
ity of having been permitted
to associate with Mrs. Maude
in our Chapter in fraternal
love, neighborliness and friend
ship. She will long be remem
bered by us for her strong sense
of responsibility, her unceas
ing love for her family, her,
friends and community. She
was a member of the First
Methodist Church of O vington,
and Rev. Grady A. Lively, the
present pastor conducted her
funeral at her church. She was
faithful and efficient in h e r|
church responsibilities and
was talented in voice and mu> ■
and loved helping in her choirj
where she worked for several
years.
She made a path to shine af
ter her on her walk through
th’s earthly life.
THEREFORE. Be it Resolved:
That in acknowledging our
loss, we can say, "Well done,
good and faithful servant.” and
we extend to Mr. Arnold, her
husband, and her brother and
family, and n’eces our sincere
sympathy, an ! request that a
copy of this resolution be pre
sented to them, a copy sent to
the Covington News for pub
lication and be recorded in the
minutes of our Chapter and
that our Charter be draped for
the usual time in her memory.
