THE COVINGTON NEWS
ANCHOR MAN JOHN CHANCELLOR (center, top row) will oversee NBC-TV’s ‘The Campaign and
the ( andidates” programs, presented eight times before the important 1962 elections by The Savings
and Loin Foundation. Surrounding him here are some of the reporters who will make these programs
unusually exciting: Chet Huntley, top left, and Sander Vanocur, top right; and, in the bottom row, left
to right are Merrill Mueller, Frank McGee and David Brinkley. Huntley and Brinkley will contribute
their talents to the important roles of interviewing the national party chairmen, among other respon
sibilities. Chancellor, "anchor man” and reporter on developments in the West, will appear on every
show. Vanocur is regional reporter for the East. Mueller will handle the Midwest and MeGee the South
in this vital pre-election series. Bill Ryan and Herb Kaplow, also of NBC News and Special Events, will
have important roles in “The Campaign and the Candidates” TV shows.
