in Porterdale through Sunday.
Mrs. Gattis is wished an early
recovery and return home.
Mr and Mrs. Joe Pitts and
Joe Pitts. Jr. of Summerville,
Georgia were guests of Mrs.
Grady Hardman and Miss Mae
Hardman on Saturday afternoon.
Charles Sears of Southern
Technical Institute in Marietta.
Georgia was week-end visitor of
his parents. Mr and Mrs. Dewey
Sears.
Billy Shaw of the University of
Chattanooga. Chattanooga, Ten
nessee spent last week-end with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. B.
Shaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Costley are
spending this week in Blackshear,
Georgia with Mr. and Mrs Jerry
Aldridge and daughter, Cynthia
Lynn. Mr. Costley is recuperating
from recent surgery, and the ar
rival of their new granddaughter
afforded the perfect opportunity
for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Hollen Sears. Jr.
and sons. Garry and Russell,
spent Sunday as guests of Mrs.
Sears' parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.
F. Hughes, in Atlanta where they
attended the Homecoming Ser
vice at the Riverside Nazarene

Fall Meeting of the Atlanta
Presbytery at the Mount Vernon

Mrs Alma Patterson who was
ill with flu throughout last week
was welcomed back to the Por
terdale School on Monday, Octo
ber 1.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Walker
who have resided temporarily at
the Teacherage in Porterdale have
moved into their home on Howard
Street in Covington for future re
sidence. Mr. Walker joined the
faculty of the Porterdale School
this fall.
Mrs. Charlotte Adams and Mrs.
Wallace Scarborough represented
the Porterdale School at the GEA
meeting in Atlanta on Friday,
September 28.
Miss Mae Hardman, Mrs.
J. B Mitchell. Jr.. Mrs. James
Ragan. Mrs. M. B Shaw, and
Mrs. R. C. Thompson attended
the kick-off breakfast given by
the Southern Bell Telephone Com
pany at the Buck-N-Kid Restau
rant for the Annual Girl Scout
Fund Drive on Thursday morning,
September 27.
Good wishes for recovery con
tinue to go to Mrs. E. L. Digby
who remains in Georgia Baptist
Hospital. However, it is hoped
that she will return home at an
early date.

scious at the United States Naval
Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia
following an accident at Pope Air
Force Base in North Carolina on
August 1. Mrs. Hayes remains
there constantly, and Miss Norma
Jean Brooking who had been with
Mrs. Hayes for the past two weeks
returned home to resume her
classes at the Georgia Baptist
School of Nursing in Atlanta,
Georgia.
