as a newcomer to the Brownies
when they met on Saturday morn
ing, October 20, at ten o'clock in
their Girl Scout Koom in the An
derson Building. Miss Sue Hard
man was our leader as both of
the leaders were unable to be pre
sent. :
Jane Polk announuced the de
votional after the President, Su
san Crowell, called the meeting to
order. Sheila Crowe read a lovely
‘story, “A Child's Friend" about
Jesus. Gail Moon had the prayer.j
We had a flag ceremony an d
Diane Shaw gave. the orders for
‘the Color Guard. Plans were made |
for our next meeting. f
The roll wasg called and dues
were taken. We used some of our
dues to get cups and cookies for
the meeting as someone forgot toi
bring the popcorn popper as we |
planned to use it today. !
While Miss Hardman helped the
refreshment committee with cool-I
aid and serving the cookies, Becky
Lance led the game of ‘Fruit
Basket Turn-Over'.
We plan to make some tray!
favors for sick friends and will}
finish our buddy burners at the |
next meeting in order to go out |
and cook with them. I
After we enjoyed our refresh- |
ments, we cleaned the room, had!
our friendship circle and sang |
‘“Make New Friends'” to welcome !

Patricia Williams of Troop No. |
1066 in Oxford, Georgia was our
guest for the meeting on Monday,
October 22, at four o'clock.. She
came to explain to us about how |
she earned her proficiency badges
and other requirements for the*
First Class Badge. We examined |
her badge sash and counted twen
ty-nine badges she had earned as
a Girl Scout. She brought note
books and scrapbooks which girls|
in her troop had made to explain |
their badge work and to be a re- |
cord for them and the leaders. The
covers were interesting reminders
of the material inside.
The Flag Ceremony was led by |
Teresa Adams and the Color
Guard included Karen O’Kelley,
Jane Mitchell, and Brenda Her-!
