Dear Friends:
| would like to take this opportunity to express my
desire to you to have your son registered in this year's Punt,
Pass, and Kick competition. There will be fifteen (15) prizes
awarded to the boys who participate in the Newton County
competition, three (3) prizes in each age group. Your boy
will compete only against boys of his own age.
In the P. P. & K. competition there is no body contact
made, so there is virtually no way in which your son can be
hurt. The competition consists of each boy punting, passing
and place-kicking the football for both distance and ac
curacy.
This year's prizes consist of: Ist Place, NFL warm-up
jackets; 2nd Place, football helmets; 3rd Place, regulation
footballs. The scores of the boys will be compared with other
boys of the state, area, and nationally. If his score is good
enough, then he MAY win a trip to Baltimore and the NFL
Championship game.
THERE IS NO COST TO ENTER T '‘ONTEST. All
that is necessary is for one of the boy's ts or his guar
dign to come with him to our dealership und register him.
This may be done anytime during October. The contest will
probably be November 3,1962.
Discuss this with your boy and COME IN AND REGIS
TER THIS WEEK.
Yours very truly,
W. W. CROWE

I'm all confused! I was
brought up to think that our
country was a democracy; and
a democracy was a government
that was ruled by a vote of the
people and the will of the
majority was accepted and
carried out.
I am beginning to discover
that some people think it is the
other way around! It is the
minority that - rules! And it
seems the smaller the better!
I grew up under the impress
ion that our country was a God
fearing, Christian country, that
our forefathers came over here
to escape religious oppression
and established a government
that guaranteed their right to
worship God, according to the
dictates of their conscience.
As far as I know there was
no thought of guaranteeing to
an athiest the right to inter

worship, in any place, or un
der any circumstances. But I
see by the newspapers and
magazines that any crazy
atheist that has a child in
school thinks she has the right
to interfere with the rights of
the 99 percent of the pupils in
school who believe in God and
want to pray to Him. If that is
not demanding minority rule
with a vengence, I'd like to see
something that is!
Now, so far as I am concein
ed, she has a perfect right tn

Swinging young adults are too athisticated for trick or treat
capers on Halloween, but they’re really hip to a record playing jam
session in the family recreation room or basement. Give them plen ty
of floor space to dance the “twist” and the “mashed potato” and
their favorite refreshments . . . including quantities of punch. With
a little imagination and versatile instant soft drink mix you can
conjure up an economical Halloween beverage that's sure to please
and refresh.
Tangerine Halloween Punch -
1 envelore Tangerine 1-1/2 cups apricot nectar
Kool-Aid 2 quarts water with ice cubes
1 cup sugar 20 licorice candy sticks
Combine tangerine instant soft drink mix, sugar, apricot nectar,
and water with ice cubes in punch bowl. Stir until instant soft
drink mix and sugar are dissolved. Serve in cups and place a lico
rice stick in each cup for a stirrer. Makes about 2-1/2 quarts,
enough for 20 servings, 1/2 cup each.
