Salem

If you haven't been out rid
ing in the past ten days you
are missing a lot of beauty, for
the woods are now as pretty in
Newton County as in any of the
mountains.
Our hearts were saddened
this week at the death of Mr. I
Benry Britt of Almon. Hls on
ly daughter. Mrs. J. W. Thomp
son, resides in Salem and we
all join in extending our heart
felt sympathy to her and Mrs.
Britt. It was not my pleasure
to know Mr. Britt, but I am
