at the end of the present con
struction near the State Route
I. 8 interchange east of Con
yers and extending easterly to
a point near the northeast city
limits of Covington.

Said work shall begin with

ing days. When contract has

before, work may be started.
Contract executed pursuant
to this Notice is binding on the
Stale Highway Department, as
such. Said contract will not
create liability, expressed or
implied, against the undersign

nor against any employee of
the Stale Highway Department,
in his or her individual capa
city.
The minimum wage to be
paid under this contract shall
be the amounts set out in the
Labor Provisions included in
the Proposal. The attention of
bidders is directed to the Spe
cial Provisions covering em
ployment of labor, methods of
construction, subletting or as
signing the contract and to the
use of domestic materials.
Plans and specifications are
on file at the office of the un
dersigned at Atlanta, and at
Tennille, Georgia, and at the
office of the Board of County
Commissioners of Rockdale &
Newton Counties at Conyers &
Covington, Georgia, where
they may be inspected free of
charge. Copies of the plans
may be obtained upon payment
in advance of the sum of
$21.00. Copies of the General
Specifications may be obtain
ed upon payment in advance
of the sum of $3.00. which sums
will not be refunded.
Proposals must oe submitted
on regular forms, which will
be supplied by the undersign
ed, and may be obtained by a
payment, in advance of $5.00
for each proposal issued. When
the proposal is submitted, it
must be accompanied by a
certified check, cashier's check,
negotiable United Stales Bonds,
or other acceptable security in
the amount of $20,000.00, and
must be plainly marked “Pro
posal for Road Construction,”
County and Number, and show
the lime of opening as adver
tised. Check of the low bidder
will be cashed and all other
checks will be returned as soon
as the contract is awarded, un
less it is deemed advisable by
the State Highway Department
to hold one or more checks. If
an unusual condition arises,
the Stale Highway Department
reserves the right to cash all
checks. Bidders Bond will not
be accepted. Bond will be re
quired of the successful bidder
as required by law.
Contracts will not be award
ed to contractors who have
not been placed on the list of
qualified Contractors prior to
the date of award. No proposal

of default in payment of the
note and debt, and the same
is collected by an attorney at
law to pay all costs of collec
tion, including ten per centum
of the principal and interest as
attorney’s fees.
That the maker of said Se
curity Deed and Note default
ed in making the monthly in
stallment payments as pro
vided therein, and failed to
keep his obligation and by
reason of default in making
said installment payments, and
thereafter Newton Federal
Savings and Loan Association
has and did elect to declare the
entire debt due and payable
and the power of sale in said
deed operative, and on October
22, 1962, more than ten days
befo'e the first advertisement
under the power of sale was to
run, did give written notice of
accumulating the said attorney
fee as provided by law as set
out in Code Section 20-506, re
lating to the collection of at
torney's fees, to the maker of
said Security Deed and Note,
and stating therein that no at
torney fee would be required
if he would come in and pay
the balance of the principal and
interest due on said debt to
said Association, and he failed
to pay said debt, after having
received said notice, and said
attorney fee has now accumu
lated and become a part of the
said debt.
The proceeds of the sale will
be applied to the payment of
the balance due on the princi
pal and interest of said debt,
and to the other charges due
and owing under the terms of
sa.d deed and note, and includ
ing attorney's fees as herein
before set out. and the surplus,
if any, to the maker of said
Security Deed and Note.

annual Georgia Youth Traffic
Safety Week Nov. 11-16. Th*
i 'pecial safety week is a pro
ject of the Georgia Teen-age
■Traffic Safety Association. Its
goal for the week: “NO TRAF
FIC DEATHS.” Its theme
“ Courtesy and Safety Go Hand
in Hand."
As the adult guiding agency
for the youth association, the
Georgia Department of Public
Safety is giving its full cooper
ation and active support in
helping the teen-agers promo:#
the program, according to Col,
H. Lowell Conner, director
Members of the youth organ
ization are hard at work ail
over Georgia in an effort to
make the safety campaign a
success. They are soliciting co
operation from adult groups at
the community level, especially
through their schools and
churches.
