bazaar was held at which time

served ice cream and Thanks
giving decorated cakes.

Held Inspiring Meeting, Monday
PORTERDALE — Porterdale
Baptist Church was the setting
for an inspiring meeting of the
WMS at seven-thirty o’clock on
Monday evening. November 12
with Mrs. Nina Day, President,
presiding over the meeting.
She read a meditation from
Psalm 51 and led in prayer.
Watchwords were repeated
in unison after which minutes
of the previous meeting were
read and approved.
Youth reports were made

Missions Chairman, reported
the projects for various circles
during the month.
Mrs. Claude Madden remind
ed the Ladies of the Mission
Study at which “New Frontiers
in an Old World’’ will be
taught on November 26 at six
o'clock by the Rev. T. M. Un
derwood, Area Missionary for
the Stone Mountain Associa
tion. This will be a covered
dish supper-meeting.

North Covington WSCS Meeting Held
At the Home of Mrs. Jerome Hamm
The November meeting of
the North Covington Woman's
Society of Christian Service
was held at the parsonage with
Mrs. Jerome Hamm as hostess.
Mrs. Ed Hooten, president,
presided and Mrs. Zed Steele
led the opening prayer.
The possibilities of having a
Stanley party, to build up the
local treasury, were discussed,
and it was decided that the
calendar was too full at the
time, but favorable action
might be taken in the future.
Final plans were made for
the Christmas party and din
ner to be given the first Tues
day night in December. Pledges
were received by the treasurer,
First Baptist Thornley Circle
Hears Program on "World Awareness"
The Sara Thornley Circle of
the First Baptist Church met
Monday night, November 5. at
the church. Hostesses were Mrs.
Holland Tuck, Mrs. Clint Pat
rick and Mrs. Julius Laseter.
Mrs. Harry Dietz opened the
meeting with prayer. Mrs. Her
man Adams, Circle Chairman,
welcomed Mrs. Ronald Cook
and Mrs. J. P. Sheffield as vis
itors.

chairmen. The circle voted to
send a Thanksgiving basket to
