Woman’s Club opened their
meeting on Tuesday, Novem
ber 20, at tea o’clock in the
Porter Memorial Gymnasium
with singing the hymn, “Open
My Eyes That I May See”. Mrs.
Willie Jeffries. Chairman, wel
comed the thirteen members
and three visitors who braved
the rainy morning to be pres
ent.
Mr. Harvey Campbell
brought an inspiring Thanks
giving devotional in which he
read PsaJm 113 and a Thanks
giving Meditation after which
he led in prayer. He empha
sized the thought “Praise to
the Lewd”.
Minutes of the last meeting
were read by Miss Sadie Pol
son. The roll was also called
by the secretary.

music. Several different callers
will participate during the

The dance is being held to
raise money so that the Junior
Service League will be able to

Mrs. Allen Pannell, who is at
home to friends at the corner
of Pierce and Asbury Streets
in Oxford.
A native of Royston. Mrs.
Pannell comes from Thomson,
which was her home for 32
years, and where she and her
late reared their family. Mrs.
Pannell is Emory at Oxford’s
gracious dining hall hostess;
and in leisure time enjoys mu
sic. reading, flower arranging
and needlecraft as hobbies.
She has two daughters and
two sons: Miss Ruth Pannell,
of Augusta Schools Faculty,
and Mrs. R K Lerner, who is
an instructor tn Taylor Charm
School in Rochester. N. Y.; Al
len Pannel. Jr., who with his
wife and children, Paula and
Al. make their home in Thom
son: and Bob Pannell who is a
junior at Emory University.
