Mrs. Homer Sharp Was Gracious
Hostess to Methodist Circle Meet
The Corrie Wright Circle of the
Covington First Methodist Church
met on March 12 at the home of
Mrs. H. F. Sharp. Mrs. R. W. Os
born, circle chairman, welcomed
the members. A special welcome
was extended to Miss Fannie La
zenby, houseguest of the Sharps.
Mrs. A. D. Jordan led in t h e
opening prayer. Following t h e
Secretary - Treasurer’s reports,
announcement was made concern
ing a nursing scholarship fund
honoring Mrs. Arthur Styron, pre
sident of the North Georgia W. S.-
C. S. A collection was taken to
participate in this worthy project.
All circle members and their
families are urged to attend cot
tage prayer meetings to be held
prior to the revival services,
which begin on April 7 at Coving
ton First Methodist Church.
The lesson from the study book,
"The Bible and God's Mission”,
was given by Mrs. Spence Ram
sey.

Stargel-Fuller
Wedding Is
Announced
Miss Katie Sue Star ge 1
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.
A. Stargel of Jersey was united
in marriage to Mr. Franklin
G. Fuller, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Julius L. Fuller, of Campton
on February 15. The wedding
took place at eight o’clock in
the evening at the home of the
bride with the Rev. L. E.
Hakes officiating.
Decorations consisted of ar-

rangements of white gladiolias
and green fern. Candelabra
holding burning tapers cast a
soft glow throughout the rooms
where guests were assembled.
The youthful bride, given in
marriage by her father, chose
for her wedding a gown of
white which featured a fitted
bodice with three qua r ter
sleeves and round neckline.
The skirt featured inserts of
lace and she wore a shoulder
length veil of illusion. Her
only ornament was a strand
of pearls.
Miss Sandra Stargel, maid of
honor, was gowned in blue taf
feta, and she wore a corsage
of wlhite carnations.
Reese Fidler, brother of the
bride-groom served as best
man.
Mrs. Stargel chose for her
daughters wedding a gown of
pink lace over satin with which
she wore a corsage of white
carnations. Mrs. Fuller was
gowned in beige linan and
wore a corsage of pink carna
tions.
Following the wedding, Mr.
and Mrs. Stargel entertained
the wedding party and guests
at a reception. The bride’s ta
ble was covered with lace over
pink satin and centered with
a three tiered wedding cake
topped by a miniature bride
and groom.
Those assisting were Mrs.
Ruth Jones of Conyers and
Mrs. Charlotte Taylor of Cov
ington. Mrs. Leola Harper of
Covington kept the bride's
book.
Later in the evening the
newlywed’s left for a trip to
Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Ful
ler traveled in a suit of navy
with which she wore beige ac
cessories and an orchid from
her wedding bouquet. They
will reside on Felker Street in
Monroe.
Green Thumb
Flower Show
Set Wednesday
The Green Thumb Garden
Club will hold its annual flow
er Show Wednesday, April S,
at the E. L. Ficquett School.
The time of the show will be
from 4:30 p.m. till 8 p.m. The
show will be held simultane
ously with the Open House of
E. L. Ficquett School.
The five artistic classes will
be built around the theme,
"Thankfulness”. Thankful 1,
For The Night; 2, For the
Pleasant Morning Lihgt; 3, For
Food; 4, For Loving Care; 5,
For All That Makes the World
So Fair.
There will be nine horticul
ture sections, each containing
two or more classes. Mrs. Luke
Lassiter is this year’s show
chairman with Mrs. Fred Har
well being schedule chairman.
The price of the show will
be 25 cents for adults, ten
cents for children. The annual
project of the Green Thumb
Garden Club is the Landscap
ing of E. L. Ficquett School.
The club members are hope
ful for a large crowd to view
their work of art.
