Friends of Mr. W. P. Allen
are happy that he was able to
return to his home last week
end-April 7, following illness
in Savannah, Georgia.
Mrs. Wesley Boffman of Erie,
Pennsylvania was the guest of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. S.
Raines, last week.

bridal wreath, azealas and tulips
beautiful?

We extend deepest sympathy to ’
the family of Joe Parkes and the ’
other young man, who lost their
lives in a wreck on Salem Road,
Friday night My own father, our
youngest sister and our only
brother died from a train and car
even now it seems like only yester
day, but time softens the mem
ory.
Mrs. Jim Hopkins did not get
to come home last Tuesday from
Emory, but we hope she will be
home soon. Her sister, Mrs. Mynah
Boatwright of Ohio has been here
to visit her for the past two
weeks and will stay indefinitely.
We send get well wishes to Mrs.
Hopkins.
We're sorry to hear Mrs. Hor
ace Butler is at Newton County
Hospital for a few days of obser
vation and extend get well wishes
to her.
The King reunion was held on

series of spring district meet
ings, the first being a joint
Third-Fourth District gather
ing at Callaway Gardens April
10-11.
Others will be held in the

Purposes of the meetings are
to report to the membership on

, rams, nominate district officers,
and develop new programs for
consideration at the GMA ann- ,
ual convention. The convention
this year will be in Savannan
June 23-25.
The Third and Fourth Dist
rict City officials went on re
cord as favoring “aggressive
action” in pursuit of these
GMA goals: a minimum of $lO
i million dollars returned to
municipalities from the high
way-user funds for street work
and traffic control, a boundary
adjustment procedure for mun
i icipalities, and the right of the
highway department to cont-
I ract with municipalities.
