Says . . .
Somebody said God could 11
not be everywhere at once, so
He made Mothers!
That is a mis-statement! God
is everywhere, but He needs
a visible representative to as
sure us of His presence, there
fore He gave all men mothers.
He wanted to remind us of
His steadfast love, so He illust
rated it by the love our mothers
surround us with, whether we
deserve it or not. He wanted 1
us to feel His constant care, so j
He put in into our mother's j
heart to watch over us tenderly
in sickness or health. He want
ed to satisfy our hunger, phy
sical, moral, and spiritual, so
He put into our mother’s heart
the longing and ability to satis
fy our hunger. He wanted us to
be always clothed in robes of
righteousness, therefore He
created in mothers the desire
and pride to keep us clean and
well dressed. God knew how
prone we are to stray from th"
straight and narrow path, and
that we need a visible out st
retched hand to draw us to
ward the right, so He gave us
each a mother to extend a
guiding hand when we waver |
along the way.

love that would out last through
all vicissitudes, and hold firm
despite our undeserving. He
said, "I have loved thee with
an everlasting love, therefore,
with loving kindness have 1
drawn thee". Lost man should
doubt that such love really
exists He gives us a living tang
ible example of it in the love of
our mothers. How sweetly is
the thought expressed, and the
I comparison made in the old
i hymn that we learned to sing
i in our childhood days:
"As a MOTHER stills hei
child
Thou cans! hush the ocean I
wild.
Boistrous waves obey thy
will
When thou savest 'Peace' i
Be Still!’
Wondrous Savior of the |
sea,

So God made our Mothers
an
illustration of His love.
Let us thank Hitr by loving
and serving them.
