News Notes From
Covington
Mills

Mothers Day was a very cool,
windy day. but the smoke of early
morning lifted somewhat during
the day. Must have been from a
forest fire. Hazel said, during a
Mothers Day phone call, that it
was also smokey in Greensboro.
(She worked for a friend o n
Sunday).
Church attendance was fair at
Covington Mills Methodist Church.
Many were gone to visit parents,
but some parents were here also.
We had only half as many as
usual in the choir.
We're glad Mrs. Harold King is ,
home from the hospital. She was

ming pool. Sunday. Then Mr. and
Mrs. Hackett motored to Greens
boro to visit Mr. and Mrs. Young
blood. Sun. afternoon.

Park Re-Opens
The Georgia Department of
State Parks is pleased to an
nounce that the Franklin D.
Roosevelt State Park at Pine
Mountain, Georgia, will be re T
opened to the public on May
10.
Beginning with the evening
meal on May 10, meals will be
served daily, except Mondays,
at the beautiful Roosevelt Inn.
In addition to the serving of
regular meals, reservations for
parties, luncheons, and dinners
will be accepted.
The cottages at Roosevelt
State Park have been comp
letely reconditioned and reser
vations are now being accepted
by the Park Superintendent.
Roosevelt State Park has a
wonderful history and is loca
ted only 12 miles from the
Little White House at Warm
Springs. The Ida Cason Call
away Gardens are also very
close to the park.
We hope that the citizens of
Georgia as well as out-of-state
tourists will visit this park and
take advantage of the many
facilities offered.
