well, as our get well wishes go

Hazel, our daughter, delighted
us with a visit on her “days off"
today and part of tomorrow. She
loves Covington, too.
Let's keep our forest green
even in our own back yards. We
were saddened because several of
a group of sassafras trees in our
back yard wore dead, either from
the severe cold or disease, and
had to be cut down We will miss
them very much, as the younger
ones grow larger. They were
there at least 25 years and were
so pretty every spring, as they
were first to leaf out.
A MAJOR THREAT
Fire is still a major threat to
Georgia's forest resources. Ted
Walker, forester with the Co
operative Extension Service,
says prevention is the only real
answer. He adds that debris
burning is the number one
cause of forest fires.
