Bankruptcy Cases
On Increase
There has been an increase
in the number of bankruptcy
cases in recent years and a fac
tor in this has often been the
unwise use of installment buy
ing.
In addition, bankruptcy is
sometimes misused by unscru
pulous persons who siphon off
some of their property to mem
bers of their families or hide
assets other ways prior to pro
ceedings.
These and other problems
are being studied by Emory
University law professor Stan
ley Joslin who serves on the
12-member Committee on
Bankruptcy Rules estab
lished by the U. S. Supreme
Court.
