Batchelor. Miss Pickett is the
daughter of the late Mrs. How
ard E. Pickett.
The bride-elect will be a
member of the senior class of
Newton County High School
for the year 1963-64.
Mr. Batchelor is a 1963 grad
uate of Newton County High
School and is presently em
ployed by Colonial Stores, Inc.
of Atlanta.
The wedding will take place
at Stewart Baptist Church on
August 10, at 7:30 p.m. No
formal invitations are being
sent but all close friends and
relatives of the young couple
are invited to attend.

Miss Donna Cason, cousin of
the bride, wore yellow organza
with white gloves and shoes.
Her corsage of feathered carna
tions was white, and she scatt
ered petals from a white bas
ket filled with gladiolus florets.
Mrs. Coady wore a flatter
ing blue iace sheath with scoop
neckline and white accessories.
Her shoulder corsage was of
white carnations.
Mrs. Vance Curtis, maternal
grandmother of the bride, wore
a crepe sheath in navy with a
becoming bolero with three
quarter length sleeves. Her ac
cessories and flowers were
white.
The bride’s maternal great
grandmother, Mrs. Lula Par
rish, chose a pink sheer model
with white accessories. Her
corsage was of white carna
tions.
Mr. and Mrs. Coady honored
the bridal party and guests at
a reception held in the church
basement.
The refreshment table over
laid with blue net over white
taffeta had swags of net fast
ened with bridal wreath. Mrs.
Jack Lazenby in an orchid
creation with white carnation
corsage served punch from the
crystal bowl base garlanded
with double white althea in
terspersed with ivy tendrils.
Toasted nuts and mints com
pleted the appointments.
At another table overlaid
with blue net over white taffe
ta and placed at a right angle
to the former. Miss June Coady,
the bride’s cousin, cut the wed
ding cake. Topped with a bride
and groom in miniature, it was
composed of three open tiers
with exquisitely embossed yel
low roses. Miss Coady wore
with you always, even to the
end of the World!”
So, we who believe and trust

Baptist Sunday School Class Meeting

tist Church met on Wednesday |
afternoon, July 24th at the
home of Mrs. R. B. Yancey.
Mrs. W. R. Nunn, our president,
presided with a welcome to
everybody. The meeting was
opened by singing the hymn,
“Bringing in the Sheaves” with
Mrs. Ray Moore at the piano.
Mrs. Tom Heard led in prayer.
Roll was called with fifteen
members answering with Bible
verses.
Mrs. Ray Moore gave the de
votional reading from Matthew
about the Sermon on the |
Mount. She gave a very inspiri- .
tional talk.
Reports from the four group
captains were given. Several
reported sick members and also
gifts of flowers having been
sent to the sick while in hospi
tal. Our corresponding secre
tary, Miss Louise Skelton, re-
