Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hammond
returned to their home in Hia
leah, Fla. after spending a
week with their mother, Mrs
Lula Hammond.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Miller and
children of Greensboro, North
Carolina arrived last week tc
visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs
Rufus Edwards. Mr. Miller re
turned home Sunday, but Mrs.
Miller will stay for two weeks
Rev. and Mrs. Bill Griffen
and Dana returned home Sat
urday after a vacation trip.
The girls’ softball team and
their families enjoyed a party
at the community house, Sat
urday night.
Mrs. Dave Dobbs continues
very sick at the Newton Coun
ty Hospital.
Mrs. J. W. Persall is getting
Belong nicely at the Newton
County Hospital and expects
to come home this week.
James C. Gantt is in the
Rockdale Hospital following a
heart attack Sunday. We hope
he will be home soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Tubb and
baby son of St. Louis are leav
ing for home today (Thursday)
after spending two weeks with
their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Rufus Edwards.

girls are well on their way into
another school year, the ones
that were at Mothers knees are in
first grades.
So glad to report good attend
ance lor church services. We re
ceived rich blessings from Dr.
Dallis Tarkenton’s message Sun
day. Our pastor. Rev. Jerome
Hamm, was speaker for home
coming at Pitts Chapel.
Our community has been sad
dened at passing of our neighbor,
Mrs. B. A. (Florence) Bouchillon.
Our sincere sympathy extended to
family and friends and to our other
bereaved friends.
To our shut-ins. we send best
wishes for a speedy recov
ery.
Would like to welcome Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Lunsford, formerly
of M’' 1 idgeville, to our community,
who have moved into a home on
Echols St.
Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Wiley visited
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Butler Sunday
afternoon.
Mrs. Carol Livingston and Nan
of Avondale spent weekend with
relatives here.
Terry Reed of Gainesville spent

Pets, Small Animals
Needed for Fair Exhibit
Hugh Sams, 1963 Newton
County Fair chairman, has an
nounced that the local fair will
। have a small animal and pet
’ exhibit this year. Many young
folks and adults have expressed
a willingness to exhibit their
pets at the fair which starts on
Monday, September 30.
Mr. Sams said that such
animals as rabbits, quail, tur
keys, birds, wild game, etc.
would be welcome.
