Heigh-ho come to the Fair!
The sky was hurtingly blue by
day and the moon a large pump
kin at night. Bees flocked around
the Sno-cone stands to taste the
red and purple syrup-jackets and
sweaters so appreciated earlier I
had by mid-morning become a
bothersome burden. Smelling of
fresh sawdust the exposition hall i
was an inspiring display of the I
efforts of many-especially were
ve pleased to see a blue ribbon i
on the booth of our own West!
Newton County Home Demonstra
tion Club.
Our five year old Melinda trot- i
ted along at our side as we visit- I
ed the livestock barn to see the
calves and found to our delight
that our friends Betsy and Ri- ;
chard Jolley's calves had won
blue ribbons. On the mid-way j
the same old rather dilapidated
rides and fast talking carnival
folks, but with a five year old i
long, even this became the fairy-.
land of our own childhood and the
day passed much too soon.
The M. Y. F. of Prospect
Methodist Church was host to the
meeting of the Sub-District o n

Zion Baptist Church's Royal
Ambassadors had a most impres

many of the boys received pins
of merit. The church was lighted
by candles and those in atten
dance were much in admiration
of the work done by the leaders.
Jack Malloy, L. C. Dailey, and
Eddie Jones.
The Woman's Society of Christ
