The outstanding fact is when I
this family decided to build a sur

to practicality and making it a
facility which could be used any
time the family needed it for
additional family activities. This
is a point many families could
take into consideration.

Methodist Women
To Take Part in
Special Program
Methodist women in Georgia
are joining with 1,700.000
: others across the nation in a
special period of prayer, medi
tation, and study as a part of
The Methodist Church’s annual
; “Call to Prayer and Self-Deni- |
al.”
The observance is sponsored
by the Woman’s Division of
Christian Service of The
Methodist Board of Missions,
the national body under which
36.000 local Woman’s Societies
of Christian Service and Wes
leyan Service Guilds function.
The observance is one of the
oldest for Methodist women
and dates back to 1887.
Women are gathering in
Methodist churches across
Georgia for two events —a
program meeting to interpret
mission projects to which
money from special offerings
will be given and a “Quiet
Day” service, which includes'
personal prayer and medita
tion, hymns and a silent meal.
The theme for the Quiet Day
service is “Peace With God.”
As the “Self-Denial” part
of the title suggests, each wo
man is asked to give a sacri
ficial gift to designated mission
projects in the United States
and overseas. The offering is
taken during the program
meeting.
Offerings of the Call to
Prayer and Self-Denial have
increased almost every year
and in 1962 reached a new high
of $624,306 across the nation.
Since 1887, when the first
offering amounted to $7,000,
the offerings have enabled
Methodist missions projects to
_ ।b« increased sharoly.

I I bring you good tidings of great
joy which shall be to all people.
I For unto you is born this day in
the city of David, a Savior which
is Christ the Lord, and this shall

the babe wrapped in swaddling

And suddenly there was with

on earth peace, good will toward

And it came to pass, as the an
