Did you know that in a
Moscow suburb is a brand
new and unused golf course,
the only one in Russia? Guess
has it that it was constructed
on Krushehev’s order as a
surprise for Ike when a visit
to the Soviet was still in the
cards....that it is possible to
be sound asleep with both
eyes open?....that the Anny
once had the rank of ensign?
....that in two decades the
number of radio stations in the
U.S. has' increased from 900
to over 3,500?....that the per
capita consumption of gum
is a chewy 184 sticks a
year?....
This is one place where
it is impossible to sleep
with your eyes open...there
are too many exciting, wond
erful things to look at. Our
selection of fine diamonds of
all sizes and shapes is en
thralling. Our Syracuse and
Iroquis China, Fostoria
Crystal and Wyler Swiss
Watches demand the most
wide-awake consideration.
You’ll do justice to any occa
sion with a gift from RAY
JEWELERS, 9 East Square,
and spend all the remaining
years in proud satisfaction.

Honored On
Anniversary
PORTERDALE — In ob
servance of Mr. and Mrs. E.
B. Davis’ fifty-seventh wed
ding anniversary on May 12,
the Rev. A. J. Bruy ere com
pleted his sermon on Moth
er’s Day a few minutes earli
er than usual and asked this
beloved couple to take their
places at the altar of the
Julia A. Porter Memorial
Methodist Church.
Immediately, he called
upon all couples in the sanc
tuary to join them there.
Soon, there were twenty
six couples who found them
selves repeating again the
familiar marriage vows.
This was a most fitting
climax to the service, and it
is hoped that this ceremony
can be repeated each year
on Mother’s Day.

Has Final School
Meeting of Year
The last meeting of the
Newton Future Teachers of
America for this year was
opened with the devotional
given by Noel Hays. The
purposes of the club were
given as a candle was light
ed to represent each pur
pose.
The old officers brought
the newly-elected officers
to the front. They told what
their job for next year was,
after they had been pre
sented with a red rose.
After the business Kay
Shaw and Anita Walden led
the club in singing several
numbers before the adjourn
ment.
The only thing some peo
ple learn from experience is
that they just made another
mistake.
