from a broken ankle suffered in
a fall at her home.

Mr. and Mrs. H, H, Kirk were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. William
Kirk and their sons, Barry and
Timmy, in Navato, California for
the Christmas and New Year’s
holidays, returning to Porterdale
on Monday morning, January 4.
As their guests, they enjoyed
many scenic beauties and won
ders in the fair state of Cali
fornia. Visiting the tremendous
oscillating Christmas tree at
Macy’s which towered the height
of the fourth floor, touring the
Pacific Coast and observing the
catch of seafoods and their pre
paration for delicacies right on
the coast, learning of the Italian
Swiss Colony where the now=-
famous wine is produced in giant
redwood vats and seeing the pro
duction of this sought after pro
duct, viewing the sights at the
Old Spanish Mission where the
fort and Colonel’s mansion have
been preserved, and glimpsing
familiar faces inthe Wax Museum
were breathtaking experiences.
A trip to Santa Cruz and a sight
seeing tour of the beautiful coun=
try where Alfred Hitchcock’s
home is added to the excitement
along with their trip to Fisher
man’s Wharf. Friends of Wil
liam Kirk will be interested that
he lis the President of the School
Board of Navato County, Cali
fornia this year. Enroute home,
Mr. and Mrs. Kirk landed in
Dallas, Texas for a visit with
another son, Lamar, who took
them on interesting sightseeing
trips, including a visit to the
assassination site of the late
President Kennedy. This was
the first Christmas the parents
had spent with the William Kirk
family in fourteen years.
