Judy Laseter Presented ‘Good
Citizenship A ward’ Os DAR

of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Laseter
was presented the Good Citizen
Award by the Sergeant Newton
Chapter, Daughters of the Amerl
- Revolution, Wednesday, Jan
uary 13 at the regular meeting.
Mr. Homer Sharp, Principal of
the Newton County High School
made the presentation. Miss
Laseter was chosen by the Senior
Class and the Faculty for depen
dability, service, patriotism and
leadership.
Miss Laseter represented her
class for three years as a dele
gate to the Youth Assembly and
Christian Life Conference and
the Student Council. Her acti
vities also include membership
in the Tri Hi Y and at present
she is President of the Student
Body. As a delegate to Girl
Baptist Men’s Day
Sunday At High
Point Church
Sunday January 24th is the day
of recognition for the men in
baptist churches throughout the
land. The day will be observed
by the High Point Baptist Church
with the men having charge of the
order of service and filling the
various places of service during
Sunday School and the worship
services, morning and evening.
Rev. J. C. Nalls, brother of
Billy Nalls the Music Director,
will bring both the morning and
evening message during the hours
of worship.
Rev. Nalls holds a pastorate
in Rentz, Georgia, where he has
served diligently and faithfully
tor the past five years.

Estate she was elected Secretary
of State and was chosen as an
alternate to Girl’s Nation.
Through the four years she
has been active in the following
organizations: FHA, French
Club, Y Club, Pep Club, Beta
Club and Honorary Society of
the Quill and Scroll. In her
Junior year Miss Laseter was
Junior Editor of •‘THE RAM”
also Treasurer of her class.
Her Senior year has brought
her additional honors as: Youth
Chairman of Parent-Youth Coun
cil and a role in the One Act
Play. She was chosen Miss
NCHS also.
Miss Laseter is an active
member of the First Baptist
Church.
