If you think you have
trouble finding a parking
place now, wait around until
1970. Experts claim—rather
gloomlly--that 1970 will see
80 million cars jockeying for
space on our highways and
byways. This amounts to a
one-third increase over the
60 million autos In service
in 1960.
The driving and parking
problem has not yet become
too acute. When it does
we will find ways and means
of surmounting it. One way
today is to do all your shopp

HAPPINESS CAKE
One cup of Good Thoughts; 2
cups of sacrifice; 3 cups of for
giveness; one cup of Kind Deeds;
1 cup of Consideration; 2 cups of
your own thoughts, well beaten;
Mix thoroughly and add tears of
Joy, sorrow, sympathy; Flavor
with love and kindly service. Fold
in carefully four cups of prayers,
faith and enthusiasm. Blend
well with Humor, love and kind
ness. Spread all into your dally
life. . .(not too thin). Serve
with a smile, at all times, adding
much heartfelt compassion, and it
will satisfy the hunger of all who
try it. (This Cake must be
made exactly by directions or it
will fail you).
This recipe was given by Mrs.
Ruby Chapman, and we added a
few hints which we thought, if
carefully tried, might add to the
flavor.
Well, on the Christmas tree,
our Sister, received a small tape

arrival home, she said wait a

to you. . .And that cousin started
talking to me. . .1 thought she
was here. . .it was the tape

went! Then there was the Aunt

but she also saw life long friends,
the Forresters in Leesburg. . .
E. L. (Tick) Forrester and wife.
He was formerly in Washington.
They made me real homesick...
but happy they had such a good
time. They went by our Mother
and Father’s and A. B. Jr’s
graves in Adel, and saw many
life long friends of the family
there. Os course I know they
all asked about Adel natives, who
now live in Covington, and of
whom we are justly proud.

P. S.
When death comes to a loved
one, we are always crushed that
the time has come that we must
give them up. Yet, the Heavenly
Father has said: “I go to pre
pare a place for you, and if I go
and prepare a place for you, I
will come again and receive you
unto myself, that where lam there
ye may be also.”
We know not the day nor the
hour that He Is ready for us to go
Home. We grieve that we must
give up the loved one, for we are
all selfish in that we want to keep
them always with us. There Is
never a “right time” for us to
give them back to the Father.
Our hearts bleed, as co
workers with Mrs. Jane Abbott
at The . Covington News, in the
sudden passing of her beloved
sister, while on a visit here.
We know not our Father’s plans
for us. We cannot question
things. Yet it is only natural for
us to be torn and heartsick at the
loss of our loved ones.
The hearts of Officials, and the
Staff, of the Covington News go
out in heartfelt sympathy to this
fine family. W e only wish we knew
the words adequate to express our
love and great yearning to mean
something to this family, at this
particular time.
May the Heavenly Fatherbless
each member of this beloved
family; let them feel the warmth
of His Divine love surrounding
them to heal any wound, no mat
ter how great. It takes time but
He expects us to have under
standing hearts. We must lean
