NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS
OF NEWTON COUNTY, GEORGIA
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED
that on the 22nd day of June,
1966, an election will be held in
said County, at which election
there will be submitted to the
qualified voters thereof for their
determination the question of
whether or not bonds in the ag
gregate principal amount of
$360,000 shall be issued by New
ton County School District for
the purpose of providing funds
to pay or to be applied toward
the cost of acquiring, construct
ing and equipping school build
ings and facilities useful or de
sirable in connection therewith,
adding to, improving, renovating,
repairing and equipping existing
educational buildings, properties
and facilities of the Newton Cou
nty School District, including the
acquisition of vocational training
buildings and facilities and trans
portation facilities and edu
cational aids and apparatus, ac
quiring the necessary property
therefor, both real and personal,
and paying expenses Incident to
accomplishing the foregoing; said
bonds, if so authorized, are to
be dated as of July 1, 1966,
to be in the denomination of
$5,000 each, numbered con
secutively from 1 upward to 72,
inclusive, in order of maturity,
to bear interest from date at
such rate or rates not exceeding
four per centum (4%) per annum
in any year, all interest payable
February 1, 1967 and semi-an
nually thereafter on the Ist days
of February and August in each
year and the principal to mature
on the Ist d^ of February, low
est numbers first, In the years
and amounts, as follows;
$55,000 In each of the years
1979 and 1980,
$60,000 in each of the years
1981 and 1982,
$65,000 in each of the years
1983 and 1984.
The principal of and interest
on said bonds shall be payable
in lawful money of the United
States of America at a bank or
banks to lx* designated later.
Voters desiring to vote for the
issuance of the said School Bonds
for the aforesaid purpose shall
do so by marking their ballots
with a cross or check mark in
the square to the left of the word
“YES” printed thereon and
voters desiring to vote against
the issuance of said School Bonds
for the aforesaid purpose shall
do so by marking their ballots
with a cross or check mark In
the square to the left of the
word “NO” printed thereon, as
to the question pro[>ounded, to
wit; ‘‘Shall there be authorized
to be issued $360,000 Newton
County School District Bonds”.
The several places for hold
ing said election shall be at the
regular and established election
districts ofNewton County, Geor
gia, and the polls will tie open
from 7:00 o’clock A.M. to 7:00
o’clock P.M., Eastern Standard
Time, on the day fixed for the
election.
All persons qualified to vote
in general elections and only
those registered and qualified to
vote in general elections will lie
allowed to vote in this election.
