ond week. A good time is being
had by all who attend. There are

Michael Costley, the son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Olin Costley,
was graduated from the Univer
sity of Georgia, Athens, with a
BBA degree on Saturday, June 4.
Dr. Novlse G. Fawcett, pre
sident of Ohio State University,
gave the commencement address.
Mr. Costley is a member of
Sigma Chi Fraternity and has
served as treasurer for the past
two years. He will be associa
ted with his father in business
in Covington.

Cavington Officials
To Attend GMA Moot
Officials from Covington will
be attending the Georgia Muni
cipal Association convention June
19-21 at Columbus. Mayor Walk
er Harris, City Manager George
C. Jolley and Councilman S.
Larry Greer will be among more
than 1,000 delegates to this 33rd
annual meeting of Georgia’s cit
ies and towns’ representatives.
A highlight of the meeting will
be a political forum featuring
candidates for state governor
and lieutenant governor. This
event gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
June 21 in the Municipal Audito
rium.
Keynote speaker will be Harold
M. Tollefson, Mayor of Tacoma,
Washington, whois vice president
of the National League of Cities.
He will address the opening ses
sion Sunday evening, June 19 at
7:30 p. m.
Among other activities at the
convention will be a military
demonstration staged by Fort
Benning. City officials will take
part in the military display as
they come “under attack” by
opposing forces.
On Monday, June 20 Governor
Carl E. Sanders will address
the delegates at a noon lunch
eon. Concluding the convention
will be the annual banquet and
dance on the evening of June 21.
