Mrs. Singley Was Honoree At
Shower At Porterdale Church
PORTERDALE — Mrs. Steve
Singley was honored with a show
er whose theme was hearts and
flowers at the Julia A. Porter
Memorial Methodist Church on
Thursday evening, September 29,
with Miss Judy Standard, Miss
Rhonda Jeffries, Miss Gayle Al
len, and Miss Theresa O’Kelley
as hostesses.
The refreshment table was

their regular meeting at the Elks
Lodge #IBO6 on Monday, Septem
ber 26. The meeting began with
a covered dish supper.
Mrs. Jack Allen introduced
the guest for the evening, Mrs.
Jo Ann Manley. Mrs. Manley
is Research Assistant in Teacher
Education Research Project,
University of Georgia. Mrs.
Manley presented a very
Interesting program on improve
ments in education.
President, Mrs. Jack Digby,
called for the reading of the roll,
minutes, and the treasurer’s re
port. A regular business meet
ing was held with reports from
various committees.

Mrs. Singley wore a canvas
print suit with which she had
a white carnation corsage with
pearl heart embellishment, a gift
from the hostesses.
She was the recipient of lovely
gifts to be used in her home
when Mr. Singley returns from
duty in Viet Nam.

pressive sermon Sunday morning

Remembrance Os Me.” Rally
Day was held at the Sunday
School hour with an interesting
program. Dr. W. C. Halliday
of Rio Verde, Mexico was the
guest speaker at 7;30 p.M. He
showed slides also of the work
there.
