L. J. Moore was the gracious
hostess, at her Holly Springs
home on Jackson Road.

ter of the hostess, wearing a
pink woolen costume, welcomed
guests at the door. For the oc
casion, Mrs. Moore chose a
champagne costume, with bronze
bugle beading. Her sister and
houseguest, Mrs. J. J. Douglas,
of Memphis, Tennessee, wore an
attractive chiffon model, in
watermelon pink. Mrs. Moore’s
daughters, Mrs. John Fuller,
wearing a mist blue crepe model;

fet table, from which a delicious
sweet course with coffee was
served, was decorated with a
beautiful green plant flanked by
silver candle sticks with long

istian Service of Newborn Chu
rch met January 12 In the home
of Mrs. R. D. Murrelle. Miss
Ruth Duke was co-hostess.
The president, Mrs. T.W. Bin
ford, called the meeting to or
der. The opening song was "He
Leadeth Me.” Rev. Harold Lee
led in prayer. The president
welcomed the members, and Mrs.
Lee of Selma, Alabama as a visit
or. Mrs. R. D. Murrelle, sec
retary, read the minutes, which
were approved. The treasurer
gave the financial report and col
lected dues. Several "Thank

en; and Mrs. Paul Neff, of Atlanta,
in a Paris pink costume also as
sisted in entertaining.
The buffet table, overlaid with
pastel green, sheer linen, with
echru lace insertion and edging,
was centered with a prlsmed,
crystal epergne, of pink carnat
ions, which was charmingly re
flected in a plateau. Silver trays
of canapes, timbales of creamed
foods, party shrimp and other
delicacies, perfected the beau
tifully appointed table. The cof
fee table, In the solarium, was
covered with imported cutwork
embroidered linen, and held the
silver coffee service, silver
trays of pastries, cake and con
fections, and silver compotes of
toasted nuts. Five branched,
silver candelabra of glowing,
bayberry candles were used on
the buffet; and gold sconces which
flanked the mantel, also held
lighted bayberry candles.
Artistic arrangements of pink
carnations were used at vantage
points, throughout the rooms
thrown ensemble for the party.
Some eighty-two friends, in
cluding a number from Atlanta,
were included in the guest list
for the delightful occasion.

The revival will also begin on
February 5.
Rev. Lee’s subject was "Pray
er.” Those present enjoyed his
talk very much. He concluded
his talk with a prayer.
At the social hour, the hos
tesses served whipped cream on
strawberries and cake. Hot tea,
nuts and pretzels were served
as the members arrived.

rge T. Smith called on all Geor
gians to "forget partisan polit
ics” and work with him and Gov.
Lester Maddox in "escalating
Georgia’s growth.” Said he;
"It is my desire to bring more
status to the lieutenant gov
ernor’s office by establishing a
close working relationship with
the chief executive of this state.
