The dining room was beauti
fully decorated with the long ta
ble covered with gold-colored
satin overlaid with white Import
ed lace and trays of dainty var
ieties of finger-size, open-face,
decorated sandwiches, wafers
and cheese cakes. A golden
Christmas tree with lighted min
iature candles in transparent cups
matched the draperies of lace
which were caught at intervals
with golden grapes and foliage.
The five-tiered wedding cake
resting on its base on a large
round mlrrow was surrounded by
white love birds, tiny gold fol-
iage bells and was most spec
tacular in the gold and yellow
motif. Yellow satin was cover
ed with beautifully ruffled, Im
ported lace and gold net was
draped around the edge and caught
up at Intervals with gold grapes.
The mirror reflected the bea
uty of the lovely flowers under
the exquisite white cake stand
and gave the illusion of a clear
pool of water. The cake was
decorated with hahdmade roses,
white lilies, stephanotls and yel
low-throated orchids. The top
carried the traditional “50” sur
rounded by golden bells, white
orchids and golden leaves.
Three smaller round tables
were designed In the same cov
ers and color motifs to match
the larger tables. One was for
orange punch, served with a bor-
der edge of iced citrus fruit
and green grapes. A large cir
cle of golden grapes and foliage
around the punch bowl reached
toward the table edge. The cof
fee table held the same deco
ration. Coffee was poured from
a lovely sliver service.
Plates and napkins were on a
round table with covering to
match the larger table. A flo
wer arrangement on a mirror
decorated this.
The guest book table In the
back hall was similarly decorat
ed. jenny Moore and Nancy Kit
chens kept the guest book.
Assisting in receiving, en
tertaining and serving were 23
relatives of both Mr. and Mrs.
Malcom Including a few close
friends. Serving took place in
three exchange hours.
