PTA’s In your school to the
people.
PTA stands for common alms,
shared by all men and women—
homemakers, businessmen, doc
tors, lawyers, scientists, teach
ers, farmers, office workers,
factory workers. The magnet
that draws all of these people
together In the PTA Is a deep
and abiding interest In children
and youth. Their common pur
pose is to promote the welfare
of children and youth in home,
school, church, and community.
In schools throughout the coun
try, PTA meetings bring parents,
other laymen, and educators to
gether to learn about school pro
grams, curriculums, and teach
ing methods, to discuss school
needs and problems, and, above
all, to stimulate public action
on behalf of the schools.
A PTA is a local self-gover
ning unit that plans its programs
and activities to meet the needs
of children and youth In the com
munity. Each unit Is linked thr
ough Its membership to the state
and national PTA. Thus It shares
In the resources of the entire
organization, such as state and
national convention, field and ex
tension services, publicity, and
special programs of parent edu
cation. In addition the local unit
receives a wide range of state
and national publications to assist
it in its work.
We will be glad to give Infor
mation and advice to any group
requesting it. Thank you for
your editorials and Interest in
PTA.
