Fred W. Greer, Jr. Promoted

ATLANTA—Fred W. Greer,
Jr., 27, native of Covington, has
been elected Agricultural Officer
in the Agriculture Department
of The Citizens & Southern Nat
ional Bank. He is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Warren Greer of
Mansfield, Georgia.
The new officer is a graduate
of Newton County High School
in Covington, and received his
BSA and MS degrees in Agricul
tural Economics from the Uni
versity of Georgia.
He has been with C&S since

on the Board of Deacons. He is

the Georgia Agriculture Alumni

added his support to a proposed
GI Bill of Rights for Vietnam
veterans.
Noting that “the young men
who are today fighting the bat
tle for freedom in Vietnam are
some of the finest and greatest
men ever to comprise our mi
litary,’’ Congressman Stephens
made clear his position in re
marks published in the Congres
sional Record dated February 9.
The Congressman’s remarks
were occasioned’ by President
Johnson’s special message to the
Congress calling for enactment
of a broad legislative program
affecting the veterans of this
nation. The proposed legislation
would Include provision for
granting Vietnam veterans full
parity with benefits given to those
veterans of World War n and
the Korean Conflict.

Mann has completed the Cen
ter’s training program to be
come a recreation aide. For
practical experience, the youth
was assigned to a training sta
tion within the recreation depart
ment of the Center.
In addition, Mann attended ba
sic education classes related to
the academic skills necessary to
function effectively on a job.
While at Breckinridge, he was
commended by instructors for
his ability to get along with
others.

REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE 12 counties of the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America,
recently met hi DeKalb County to plan the 1967 Scout show, “The Wonderful World of Scouting”, to be
held at Atlanta Stadium, May 12. The 90-minute extravaganza will be the largest Scouting program
ever staged in the Southeast, with seven acts depicting America’s growth from Indian tribes to astro
naut teams. Some 10,000 Cubs, Boy Scouts, Explorers and their leaders will participate. Here dis
