Four Cousins Students Are
Offered Academic Scholarships
Having spent enough leisure
time studying to make Impressive
academic records has paid off
for Delores Bentley, Emma Mar
tin, Brenda Stewart, and Jesse
Clements. Each of these students
has been offered scholarships of
$3900 each to attend Johnson C.
Smith University, Charlotte
North Carolina.
Delores, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Bentley Sr. is
the valedictorian of her class.
She hopes to prepare herself for
a career in home economics.
Her most outstanding qualities,
determination, originality, and
versatility, have been rewarding
assets.
Emma, whose mother is Mrs.
Lenora Sawyers Martin, ranks
second in the 1967 class at Cou
sins. Although she has no defi
nite goal in mind, she wishes to
continue her education. Emma’s

Sociology. His capabilities are
varied and he is looking forward
to attending college. Jesse is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Cle
ments Sr.
All four of these graduates,
who have received awards and
honors before, were exception
ally proud to be offered scholar
ships for academic achieve
ments.

Leon Henry of the USS Guam
has arrived for a visit with his
mother, Mrs. Margie Henry, and
other relatives. Mr. Henry’s
ship recently participated in the
amphibious “Clove Hitch IH” in
the Caribbean.
