Academy (formerly known as
Georgia Military Academy) and is
scheduled to graduate on May 27.

Queen Title At Jekyll Meeting
Macon—There will be 31 cou
nty forestry queens who will vie
for the title of Miss Georgia
Forestry on June sth at the 60th
annual meeting of the Georgia
Forestry Association. Miss Jane
Brooks of Chatsworth is the
reigning queen.
The three-day session, June
4-5-6, will be held at the Aqua
rama on Jekyll Island. Assoc
iation President George Peake,
Jr. of Macon will preside.
A highlight of the three-day
convention will be an address by
Governor Lester Maddox. His
subject is “The Little Man and
His Timber”. Governor Maddox
will make his talk at the Awards
Banquet, June sth.
The 1967 Miss Georgia For
estry will receive a $350 sch
olarship to th 5 college of her
choice in Georgia, according to
Harvey R. Brown, executive dir
ector of the GFA, Atlanta. Both
the State queen and runnerup will
receive numerous gifts. During

Economic Club
Visits Capitol
Reuben Housworth was the
guest of the Brick Store Home
Demonstration Club last Tues
day when they took a tour of
the new Archives Building and
the Capitol in Atlanta. While
there, some of the ladies met
Governor Maddox.
The ladies enjoyed a delicious
luncheon in the cafeteria of the
Capitol.
