Search Is On For 10th
District **Homemaker”’
Tenth District‘Homemakers’’
are anxiously preparing for the
1967 District “Homemaker of the
Year’’ Contest, With more than
10,000 application forms already
distributed throughout the entire
state by the Southeastern Fair
Association, various Tenth Dis
trict groups and organizations
are beginning to select their re
presentatives for the coveted
‘““Georgia Homemaker of the
Year’? Award, Southeastern Fair
representatives announced that
applications have doubled since
last year, and that any group or
organization wishing to sponsor
a candidate should mail their
application forms immediately.
Mrs, David L, Black of Mil=-
ledgeville was selected as last
year's ‘District Homemaker of
the Year” for the Tenth District,
Along with nine other Congress=-
ional District winners and their
husbands, Mrs, Black was the
guest of the Southeastern Fair in
Atlanta on ¢“Georgia Homemaker
Day.”
The Georgia Homemaker Pro
gram is designed to recognize
outstanding Georgia women who
devote full time totheir families,
homes and communities, The
state winner will be chosen from
county and district winners, and
will be honored and crowned at
her special ‘‘Georgia Homemae
ker’s Day' on October 5, 1967,
during the Southeastern Fair,
Four distinguished judges, long
recognized as experts in the field
of home economics, have been
chosen to select this year’s ¢*Ge=
orgia Homemaker of the Year’,
In representing the sponsors,
Mrs, Billie Tovell, Director.of -
eastern Fair Association, said
this year’s program will be the
finest in the history of this 14th
annual event,
