Funeral services were held

(Jack) Wright at New Hope Bap=
tist Church with Rev, F, L, Tho=
mas officiating, Mr, Wright was
85 years old at the time of his
death on June 24, He was a pat~
sent in Newton County Hospital
for several weeks,
He was the son of the late
R, F. (Bob) Wright, who was the
first Negro to operate a grocery
store and meat market in Coving
ton, Mr, Wright was in the res
taurant business for himself for
many years and was a member
of New Hope Baptist Church of
Covington,
Surviving are his wife, Mrs,
Lillie Bell Wright of Covington,

Set For July 23
Alcovy Methodist Church will
hold its annual Homecoming on
Sunday, July 28, with the Home=-
