1968 session of the Georgia Le
gislature a bill to amend an Act
Repealing an Act Incorporating
the City of Covington and Gran
ting a New Charter to the City
of Covington, so as to set forth
clearly the provisions relating
to the conduct by officers, ag
ents, and employees of the City
of Covington and requiring the
strict compliance by all such
persons with Georgia laws 1964,
pages 261 et sequitur, and am
ending the Charter of the City
of Covington so as to conform
thereto, the same relating to
officers, agents and employees
influencing legislation; doing bu
siness with the City; accepting
remunerations in addition to
compensation provided by law;
converting property of City to
his own use; the making of fa
lse statements in relation to
contracts or projects; conspir
ing to restrain free and open
competition in any transaction
with the City; the embezzling,
stealing, purloining or knowingly
converting City property to his
own use; wilfully failing to ac
count for public money; misus
ing of public funds; acting under
color or pretence for extortion or
attempt to extort money or goods;
accepting of kickbacks; the ma
king or causing to be made, or the
concealing of, false statements
as to a material fact, including
the making of any false entry;
making personal use of public
funds; offering or accepting bri
bes; and for other purposes.
