The Changin’ Tymes of Cov

and lead singer, won second place
in the battle, losing to the Di
mensions from Gainesville by
only one point. As their prize,
the Changin’ Tymes won a SIOO
certificate from the Durden
Music Shop in Athens.
This young band has been or
ganized for a little over a year
and has performed on many oc
casions at local and out-of-town
dances. They will appear on
Friday and Saturday nights of
this week at the Bamboo Cave
in Athens.

USDA Buys Meat
For Needy Families
ATLANTA— The U.S. Depart
ment of Agriculture’s Consumer
and Marketing Service last month
purchased canned chopped meat
for distribution to needy families.
Hygrade Food Products Corp.,
Orangeburg, S. C., was one of
the four successful bidders.
Purchases of canned chopped
meat under the current program
now total 51,772,500 pounds at an
f. o. b. cost of about $22,204,-
000, C&MS officials reported.
All of the product acquired un
der the program must be pre
pared from animals slaughtered
and processed In the United
States.
