for the Y Clubs of Georgia.
Dr. Michael H. Mescon, Pro

informative and interesting talk
on capitalism and the promo
tion of free enterprise.
The entertainment for the
evening came from two very
talented people, Ron and Patricia
Owen, concert artists, who re
side in Newnan. Their program
consisted of both Inspirational

similarities between France and
the United States.
Randy Fagler, Youth Governor
and Miss Mona Smith, first lady,
told the delegates of their many
experiences during the year.
Randy said his most outstand
ing experience was his trip to
Washington, D.C. with the Youth
Governors from the other states.
Friday the press delegates
toured W.S.B. television and ra
dio, W.Q.X.I. television and the
Atlanta Journal and Constitution.
While touring the W.Q.X.I. tele
vision station and the W.S.B.
television and radio the dele

the local programs are taped.
At the Journal and Constitution,
the delegates visited the presses
and interviewed many of the wri
ters and editors.
The press delegates greatly
benefited by their experiences at
this year’s Youth Assembly.
JOINT SESSION
At the first joint session of
the Senate and the House of Re
presentatives, the speakers were
the Honorable Governor Lester
G. Maddox and the Youth Gov
ernor, Randy Fagler.
Addressing the Youth Assem
bly, Governor Maddox said he
had been requested by solici
tors, sheriffs and county offi
cials to provide additional G. 8.1.
agents to assist in fighting crime.
He said, “Sometimes, the G. 8.1.
agents aren’t available.” His
request was rejected. The Gov
ernor said he couldn’t under
stand why this request was re
jected since we have money to
build a new mansion and to
“pretty up” the State Capitol.
Turning to another subject,
Governor Maddox stated that the
