000 head. This was six per

Brick Store Club Aids Hospital Nursery
The ladies of the Brick Store
Home Economics Club have made
slxty-slx diaper shirts of lovely
flannelette material for the nurs
ery at Newton County Hospital.
These shirts were much need
ed and are certainly appreciated,
not only by the hospital but also
by the new mothers whose babies
will be wearing them.
This Is the first time any pro
ject of this sort has been un
dertaken by a Home Economics
Club, according to Mrs. James
Knight, club president.

Horace G. Caldwell, Director of
the Jekyll Island State Park Au
thority.
Kelly, Burson, Colquitt and
Commissioner Caldwell will
speak at training sessions thr
oughout the day Friday.
Saturday will be devoted to the
annual business meeting and
awards presentation of the Geor
gia Chapter of the International
Association of Personnel in Em
ployment Security. IAPES First
Vice President Myrtle Fowler of
Tallulah, Louisiana, will install
the chapter’s new officers.

ual Institute, Commissioner
Caldwell said: “The concept of

vital to the continued growth of
Georgia’s economy, concerns all
employees of the department.

all three branches of the La-
Grange College Student Govern
ment Association have been in
stalled for 1968-69 at a recent
campus assembly.
Thomas Baynard, a junior from
St. Petersburg, Fla., Is the new
SGA president. He succeeded
James Motos of Columbus.
Edward H. Frazier Jr. of Tam
pa, Fla., was Installed as men’s
vice president, while Jean Dan
iel of LaGrange is the new wo
men’s vice president.

Expands Service
Mrs. Inez K. Norton, manager
of the Credit Bureau of Newton
County, announces a Collection
Department has been added to
the services rendered citizens
of this area by the Bureau. Mrs.
Hazel Dooley, a former employee
at the Bureau, will be in charge
of this department.
This coming weekend Mrs.
Norton, Mrs. Dooley and Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Smith will attend the
Georgia Regional meeting of the
Associated Credit Bureau of Am
erica, being held at Stone Moun
tain. Mr. Smith is the owner of
the local Bureau.
