Estherian Sunday School Class
Has April Meeting On Thursday
The Estherian Sunday School
Class held its April meeting at
the First Baptist Church annex
on Thursday evening, April 18.
Mrs. Frank Ridling, vice-pre
sident, welcomed the group in
the absence of the president, Mrs.
R. E. King, and called on Mrs.
Ernest Allen to give the opening
prayer.
The secretary gave reports on
attendance for the month of March
and reported 152 visits, calls and
cards made and sent in the inter
est of the class. The treasurer
and card chairman gave good re
ports with reports of the Easter
cards sent to sick and shut-ins.
A report was given and discussed
by class members on flowers to
be sent in case of bereavement by
class members due to death of
members of the families.
The meeting was turned over
to Mrs. Leo Mallard, class tea
cher, who gave the concluding
chapter of the study book, “Out
lines of Bible History”. A brief
review was given over sections
of the book and members not
having read the book or having
missed any portion in attendance
were asked to complete these re
quirements before the next called
meeting, at which time test ques
tions must be completed for the

trict. She spoke to the group on
the changes that will be made in
the Woman’s Society of Christian
Service and Wesleyan Service
Guild when our church and The
Evangelitical United Brethen
church are united into one in the
next few months. She gave a
most interesting and informative
program which all present en
joyed.
The meeting was closed with
prayer by Mrs. Homer Sharp.
During the social hour delicious
refreshments were served by the
Sally Fowler Circle with Mrs.
William Briggs, Mrs. Raymond
McFadden, Mrs. Ronald Bradley,
and Mrs. James Cheek as hos

Kindergarten At
Porterdale To
Register Pupils
The Porterdale Baptist Church
Kindergarten will have Registra
tion Day on Saturday, May 4, at
2 o’clock in the kindergarten
building on Ash Street. Hie
monthly fee will be $12.50 at the
first of each month. The regis
tration fee is $5.00, which will
be deducted from the first
month’s fee.
The hours of the kindergarten
are from 9:00 to 12:00. Mrs.
June Head will teach the 4 year
old class and Mrs. Margaret
Rape and Mrs. Janice Richard
son will teach the 5 year old
kindergarten.

Offers Atlanta
Residences To Girls
June 1, 1968 marks the be
ginning of the Fifty-fifth year
that the Churches Homes for Bu
siness Girls of Atlanta, have
served young ladies, ages 17-31
years, coming to Atlanta for bus
iness training beyond highschool
level or to secure employment.
Last year, some 1,400 different
young ladies resided in the homes
coming from throughout Georgia
and surrounding states.
There are five residences, all
conveniently located with a total
capacity of 602, providing room
and meals at a modest expense
to young women who need tem
porary housing while adjusting
to life in this big metropolitan
community. The Homes are
NOTICE!
All citizens owning dogs are advised to
have their dogs inoculated for rabies. A
concerted effort will be made to catch all
dogs that have not been inoculated this
year. On and after Mar. 1, 1968 those
dogs caught that have not been innocu
lated will be impounded for (5) days and if
not claimed during that period will be
destroyed.
We invite the cooperation of all our
citizens in carrying out this program of
protecting its citizens against rabies.
