Ray Moore attended the funeral
on Thursday of Bob Watts of
Atlanta, who was killed in an
automobile accident. He was
the husband of the former Shir
ley Yancey. On Friday afternoon
they, with their son and grandson,
Charles Moore, visited Mrs. Al
mond Washington and Mrs. Leon
Smith in Worthville.

Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Simkins,
Jr. and family of Augusta will
be weekend guests of Mrs. Sim
kins’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nat
S. Turner. The Simkins will
join other local Republicans in
attending the State Republican
Convention in Atlanta at the new
Civic Center. Next week, the
Turners will be among those
attending Opera in Atlanta.
Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Allen,
Jr. of Puerto Rico have return
ed to their home after a three
weeks visit with their parents,
• Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hays, and
other relatives and friends in
Mansfield and Atlanta. Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Zachry of Cusseta
joined the family group for the
weekend.

have recently moved into their
newly constructed home near
Mansfield, and are being wished
much happiness in their new sur
roundings by a large circle of

end as the houseguest of Mrs.

School. Danny has been assigned

School In Advance Training.

are extending him best wishes
for a speedy recovery at St. Jo
seph’s Hospital in Atlanta, where
he underwent surgery last Fri
day. It is hoped he will soon be
able to return home.

last Wednesday night. At the

set as a token of thanks to
Ramsey Furniture Company for
their part in helping with the
new headquarters.

Mrs. Hugh Harris had as her
guests Sunday, her niece, Miss
Judy Pierotti of Altanta and her
fiance, Lecroy Nelson of Dub
lin. They are to be married
August 24 at Sacred Heart Church
in Atlanta. Miss Pierotti is the
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. Vin
cent Pierotti of Atlanta. Mrs.
Pierotti is the sister of the late
Hugh M. Harris.

Mrs. Hugh Harris spent Wed
nesday in Reynolds with her fam
ily, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Parks
and sons, Ricky, Randy and Kyle.
While there she attended the
Flower Show of the Magnolia Gar
den Club of Fort Valley, of which
her daughter, Barbara, is a mem
ber. The show “Color It Spring!”
was held at the Fort Valley Club
House. Mrs. Parks was awarded
a blue ribbon for her artistic
arrangement entry. She served
on the Schedule Committee, was
Judges and Ribbons Chairman,
and one of the hostesses for the
show. Mrs. Lawton Pearson,
Nationally accredited Flower
Show Judge of Fort Valley, was
awarded the Tri-Color Ribbon.
Mrs. Harris returned home
Thursday morning.

returned to her Covington home
after a three-weeks visit to Cal
ifornia. In Calfiornia Mrs. Ro
bertson was the houseguest of
Mrs. Jane Weston of Twenty-
Nine Palms. The trip was made
by Delta Jet and Mrs. Robert
son visited many places of in
terest including Disneyland,
Knott’s Berry Farm, Mojave De
sert, AT&T Building in Los An
geles, and Joshua Tree Na
tional Monument.

former Noel Hayes, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Emery O. Hayes,
is student teaching at Northside
Elementary School in Milledge
ville. She is majoring in Ele
mentary Education at Georgia
College of Milledgeville and min
oring in French and Mathematics.
Mrs. Williamson will graduate in
August.

Visits Ringling
Sarasota Museum

Randle, 2101 Washington St.,
Covington, recently visited the
state-owned Ringling Museums
while vacationing on Florida’s
lower west coast.
The Ringling Museums are the
foremost cultural center in
south-eastern United States. Sit
uated on 68 tropically landscaped
acres in Sarasota, they were a gift
of John Ringling to the state, and
are operated in the cultural and
educational interests of Florida
residents and visitors.
They consist of the Museum of
Art, famed for its outstanding
collection of Baroque art; the
Asolo Theater, only origianl 18th
century Italian theater in Amer
ica; the Ringling Residence, “Ca’
d’ Zan,” a $1,500,000 Venetian
Mr. and Mrs. William T. (Billy)
Skinner announce the birth of a
daughter, Katherine Leigh, at
Newton County Hospital on Fri
day, April 26. Mrs. Skinner is
the former Shirley Stapp, dau
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Stapp of Porterdale. The paternal
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas A. Skinner and her pat
ernal great-grandmother is Mrs.
Howard Skinner. Little Kathy is
the namesake of her father’s
sister, Mrs. Thomas Jay, the
former Leigh Skinner, which is
a family nameTrom her paternal
grandmother’s ancestry.

Mr. and Mrs. Earle Wilson of
Atlanta, formerly of Covington,
announce the adoption of a son,
Earle Brantley, born February
22, 1968. Mrs. Wilson is the
former Miss Rachael Patrick,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brant
ley Patrick of Covington and the
paternal grandparent is Bryant
Wilson of Covington.
