Somehow the program com
mittee had inveigled some old
fashioned (and faded) snapshots
from the Kiwaniannes and these
in turn were made into slides
for showing on a large project
ed screen by Dean Bond Flem
ing of the host college. Dean
Fleming had previously announc
ed that the theme of the pro-
gram would be “Tall Oaks From
Little Acorns Grow.’’ Little did
many of the members know that
they would be the “stars of the
show.’’
Some of the slides shown re
vealed that several of the mem
bers were curly-headed in their
youth, while others who are now
pot-bellied men were slim and
trim, while some others had
plenty of hair in their youth but
they are now bald-headed as the
proverbial Eagle.
Everyone agreed that the pro
gram was most amusing, and
above all more entertaining than
a long-winded main speaker from
the immediate area.
Master of Ceremonies was
President Philip Cohen and as
usual he toasted and roasted
many of those present. Dr.
John Tate led the assemblage
in a songfest program to start
off the evening’s entertainment
