the Covington Service Guild this
past weekend, proved to be most
successful with excellent re
sponse from local citizens., At=
tendance was over and above
that of previous years and par=-
ticipation of local artists was
excellent, according to reports of

E. A. Gilbreath of Atlanta,
president of the state-wide trade
association of small loan com=
panies , has announced that
more than 300 persons are ex=-
pected for the three-day affair.
Named as chairman of the com=
mittee making plans for the
annual affair is Jack Davis of
Cordele, the second vice pres=-
ident of the association.
“] am delighted””, Mr. Gil
breath declared, ‘‘that Mr. Davis
has agreed to accept the res
ponsibility of planning and exe=
cuting this annual convention.
With his leadership, this should
be a most outstanding conven
tion,”?
Chairman Davis is the owner
of Local Finance Company in
Cordele and is active in civic
and religious activities in that
area,
Davis announced that six vice
chairmen have agreed to work
with him on the committee. “I
will expect these people to carry
the real load,’”” he explained.
